Whaley Bridge


Start at the large layby on the west side of the A5004 (Buxton Road) south of Whaley Bridge. Circular walk of about 8 miles with total ascent of 1700 ft on the western edge of the Peak District. Including Taxal Edge, ascending to Cat’s Tor and back by the Midshires Way along the Goyt Valley. Fields, woodland, moorland, hills, valleys, reservoirs. Views superb (weather permitting). Optional meal after the walk at the Egerton Arms, Chelford (SJ 807 752).
