Walk will be a moderate walk starting from Pym Chair car park grid ref SJ 9945 7678.  (DO NOT USE the postcode SK23 7RF as it is about a 1 km away on the wrong side of the hill).   Easiest direction is probably to take the B5470 (Whaley Bridge road) out of Macclesfield through Hurdsfield and Rainow to Kettleshulme.  Just as you enter Kettleshulme take the very first hard right into a very narrow lane.  Go nearly 2 miles following general direction for Goyt Valley, passing road side parking on the verge until you get to a designated off-road carpark on your left where the walk will start.  This road is very narrow!

(Slightly shorter and for those with a good navigator beside them is to take the B5470 (Whaley Bridge road) out of Macclesfield through Hurdsfield and Rainow.  After 3 miles, and on a left-hand bend, pass Gin Clough farm on your right and after 100 yards turn right into Smith Lane.  At the end of  Smith Lane turn right into Ewrin Lane (direction Saltersford + brown sign for Goyt Valley).   Go ca 0.6 miles and turn left for Saltersford + brown sign for Goyt Valley.  As you pass Jenkins chapel take the right to Goyt Valley and Kettleshulme.  At the crest turn left (northwards, towards Kettleshulme, no sign) and the car park is reached after 100 yards; it is on waste ground on the right.  Overall, this is 2.9 miles from the B5470.)

Walk will be towards Kettleshulme then climb to Windgather rocks. Excellent views weather permitting. Total length about 9 miles with 400 meters total ascent. Meal afterwards at Egerton Arms Chelford SK11 9BB tel 01625 860900 Reserve meal on day and arrive on time 10.00 for 10.30 start as car park is limited and popular.
