Walks in Cheshire

The Mid-Cheshire Footpath Society organises a programme of walks in Cheshire. These consist of a fortnightly Sunday walk and two walks every other Wednesday, one being 'short' and the other 'long'. The programme is set every six months.

On the alternate Wednesday there are also walks, a long walk and a medium length walk. These are organised at short notice in areas requiring some special attention. Information about these walks is usually available in the Wednesday walks list on this web site. Alternatively contact the District Footpath Inspectors or ask a leader of an immediately preceding programmed walk.

All walks are led by the Society's own experienced Walk Leaders. The Society also arranges occasional short Walk Leader Training Courses for members who like to become more than just a walker. People who are not members of the Society are also welcome to join any walk and find out more about us.

Occasional social events are held throughout the year.

If I wish to go on a walk, what do I do?

Just turn up on the walk of your choice and introduce yourself to the walk leader. It is advisable to wear walking boots or stout shoes. If you have some secateurs, please bring them for trimming any plants blocking the path.

Dogs

Please note that dogs may only be brought on walks with the walk leader's permission, which must be obtained in advance. If so permitted, dogs must be restrained on a lead at all times.

Injuries and Loss of Property

Please note that the Mid-Cheshire Footpath Society does not accept any responsibility for personal injury or loss of property when attending any of our walks or functions. If it is thought necessary, individuals should make their own insurance arrangements.
